A Bachelor of Science degree in one of the Plant Sciences majors provides a strong base for advanced degrees and preparation for a variety of careers. Students may pursue a general degree or specialize in one or more curriculum options.

CROP AND WEED SCIENCES

Crop and Weed Sciences is the study of grain and forage crop production, weed science, 遗传学, plant breeding, crop physiology and plant biotechnology. Curriculum options are agronomy, biotechnology, science, and weed science.

 

FOOD SCIENCE

Food Science is the study of food processing, food chemistry, cereal technology, food microbiology, food analysis and food product development. Areas of emphasis include food safety, microbiology, 科学, business and management, engineering, nutrition and processing.

 

HORTICULTURE

Horticulture is the science and art of producing, 改善, 市场营销, and using fruits, vegetables, 花, and ornamental 植物. Curriculum options are horticulture science, landscape design, landscape management, production-business, sports and urban turfgrass management, and urban forestry and parks.

 

BIOTECHNOLOGY

Biotechnology is an interdisciplinary field that uses a combination of biology and technology to design and produce new molecules, 植物, animals and microorganisms with improved characteristics. The biotechnology program is offered through the College of Agriculture, Food Systems, and Natural Resources and the College of Science and Mathematics.
